2026 General Election

TWO SEATS ON THE PARADISE TOWN COUNCIL will be decided at the November 3, 2026 General Municipal Election. The successful candidates will each serve a four-year term of office beginning on the first Council Meeting in December 2026 through the first Council Meeting in December, 2030. The 2026 vacancies will occur as a result of the expiration of terms of office for the positions held by Ronald Lassonde, and Steve Crowder.  The Town of Paradise is consolidated with the state general election.  Melanie Elvis, Paradise Town Clerk, serves as the election official for the Town of Paradise and issues nomination petitions and files campaign statements and documentation.

Public Review Period: Elections Code Section 13313 provides for a 10-calendar day public examination period for Candidates' Statements. During this 10-calendar-day period, any voter of the Town of Paradise may seek court action to require any or all candidates' statements be amended or deleted.

Certified List of Candidates for the Office of Paradise Town Council 

Two Town Council Member positions are to be filled at the November 3, 2026, General Municipal Election. The list of certified candidates, their ballot designations, contact information whether or not they submitted a candidate statement can be found on the 2026 General Election Town Council Candidates page.

PUBLIC NOTICE

 CA Elections Code Section 10224.5

The public is forthwith noticed, per California Elections Code Section 10224.5, the following:

  1. There are two (2) open seats for Town Council Members to serve full four-year terms of office.
  2. Nomination papers have been furnished to two of the two incumbents eligible for reelection, Ronald Lassonde, and Steve Crowder.
  3. The Town of Paradise election is “at-large” and therefore there are no eligible incumbents for an open office due to redistricting.
  4. Nomination papers may be obtained at the Town Clerk/Election Official’s office at 5555 Skyway, Paradise, CA 95969 starting July 13, 2026, between hours of 8 am – 5pm Monday – Thursday.
  5. Nomination papers must be filed at the Town Clerk/Election Official’s office at 5555 Skyway, Paradise, CA 95969 between hours of 8 am – 5pm Monday – Thursday from July 13 – August 7, 2026. Town Hall will be open on Friday, August 7, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. only for the purpose of filing Town Council candidate nomination papers. If one or more incumbent Council Members have not filed nomination papers by 12:00 p.m. on August 7, 2026, any qualified elector other than the incumbent shall have until 5:00 p.m. on August 12, 2026, to file nomination papers for that elective office.
